A community art gallery that participates in the social development of San Juan del Sur by providing opportunities for artistic expression for all.
Galería del Sur
is a joint project between Fundación A. Jean Brugger Tom and Janet Quinn. The Quinn family owns the building, Fundación A. Jean Brugger administers the art gallery and studio, and the community benefits from the collective effort! The Galería’s main purpose is that of promoting national and international artists by hosting art and culture, while fostering a love of the arts and art education in the younger generation. All proceeds from sales support the educational programs of the Galería.
In addition to providing an exhibit space for national and international artists, Galería del Sur, offers an after school arts program for local children, periodic art classes for adults, employment opportunities for students in Fundación A. Jean Brugger’s Student Sponsorship Program and provides a home for a folkloric dance troupe that was started by foundation students called “Así es mi Tierra”.
